Alpha Diving Club

OUR STORY

We build divers.

Alpha Diving Club was founded on the belief that the right coaching, the right environment, and the right attitude can transform any child into a confident, capable athlete — in the water and in life.

ORIGIN STORY

It started in Venezuela in 1999.

Coach Ilich Marcano began preparing the next generation of champions in 1999. Over the following years, athletes like Robert Paez and Maria Betancourt became the result of years of methodical, safety-first coaching. In September 2015, Coach Ilich brought that approach to Seattle, Washington — and Alpha Diving Club was born.

Athlete development

Robert Paez, one of Coach Ilich's athletes, went on to represent Venezuela at the 2010 Youth Olympics and the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.

Ten years building Seattle divers.

Since 2015, we have qualified multiple divers to USA Diving Nationals, placed athletes in semifinals and finals, and earned AAU medals in 2022. Our method has not changed: safe, methodologically planned workouts covering fundamentals, technique, mindset, and conditioning. Preparing athletes for diving — and for life.

“Our main goal is to help our divers become successful in diving and in life.”
